The eagle was flying to entertain the lion to make alliance.

If he didn’t entertain the lion he wouldn't get a alliance.

The eagle trusted everything but he shouldn't trust the lion because if he stopped entertaining the lion the eagle wouldn't get the alliance.

Even that the eagle trusted everything he didn’t trust the lion.
